Crystalline Industrial Silicon
Silicon metal, also called industrial silicon or crystalline silicon, is a silver-grey crystalline material — hard and brittle, with a high melting point, good heat resistance, high electrical resistivity and strong oxidation resistance. The standard particle size is 10–100mm.
It is smelted from quartz containing over 98.5% SiO₂ together with other raw materials. As a fundamental industrial raw material, silicon metal is widely used to produce organosilicon and polysilicon, and is applied across aerospace, aviation, electronics, organic chemicals, smelting and refractory insulation industries.
